Next Thursday’s preview launches “Decoding DaVinci,” a site-specific immersive adventure that sends seven-person teams across the UC San Diego campus to solve a mystery tied to the secret society 7 Pillars.
ArtPower at UCSD developed the show with New York producer Kevin J. Hammonds after last summer’s “Clue: A Walking Mystery” succeeded on the La Jolla campus and helped shape the new concept.
Up to 11 teams a day will use adventure kits to crack codes, find hidden symbols and interact with operatives around campus in a format blending scavenger hunt, immersive theater and outdoor escape room.
Previews run through June 14, the show opens June 18 and continues through July 19, with tickets priced at $30-$40 and sold in group bookings.
