V0.39, due later this year, is being billed by BeamNG.drive as one of its most ambitious updates, centered on a broad visual upgrade for the open-world driving sandbox.
The overhaul adds volumetric clouds with shadows, new rendering technology, HDR support, sharper texture detail and improved night-time visuals, while reworking graphics presets to better balance image quality and performance.
Memory use is also being targeted: the developer says RAM and VRAM demands will be reduced to improve efficiency, though results will still depend on installed content and mods.
Beyond visuals, the update expands aerodynamics with slipstreaming, side drafting and bump drafting, and will introduce one new mystery vehicle to the roster.
