A Santa Clara judge gave 52-year-old Shannon O’Connor the maximum sentence allowed under state law after her March conviction on four dozen charges tied to teen sex parties in Los Gatos.
Prosecutors said O’Connor bought Fireball whiskey, vodka and condoms for teens mostly aged 14 and 15, let them drink until vomiting, and in some cases encouraged or arranged sex when they were too intoxicated to consent.
Several victims testified they were sexually assaulted or traumatized in her care, while District Attorney Jeff Rosen said she hid the activity from parents and her husband and endangered children rather than acting as a permissive parent.
In court, O’Connor apologized to victims and said she was ashamed; her lawyer said she began hosting the parties during the Covid-19 pandemic to improve her son’s social life.

Overview
Shannon O’Connor, known as the 'Los Gatos Party Mom,' was sentenced in May 2026 to nearly 36 years in prison after a highly emotional three-day hearing where victims and their families described the deep and lasting harm she caused. O’Connor’s crimes, committed between 2020 and 2021, involved supplying alcohol to teenagers, encouraging sexual activity among minors, and maintaining secrecy to avoid detection. Judge Elizabeth Peterson condemned O’Connor’s lack of remorse and described her as obsessed, while the sentencing aimed to deliver justice and send a strong message about the consequences of predatory behavior. The case has left enduring scars on victims and sparked calls for greater community vigilance and accountability.
