Nine games into her Connecticut stint, Hailey Van Lith was waived Thursday, ending a stay that lasted just over two weeks and marking her second WNBA release in less than a month.
Leila Lacan's activation drove the move: the No. 10 pick in the 2024 draft is back after averaging 10.4 points and 3.7 assists for the Sun last season.
Van Lith averaged 8.1 points and 2.2 assists with Connecticut, and scored 7 points with 2 turnovers in 13 minutes during Wednesday's 71-61 loss to Portland.
The former No. 11 overall pick had already been cut by Chicago on May 4 after averaging 3.5 points and 1.6 assists in 29 rookie appearances, deepening a turbulent start to her pro career.
