Microsoft rolled out a redesigned Microsoft 365 Copilot across desktop and mobile, saying the productivity assistant now loads twice as fast and returns more reliable, easier-to-scan answers.
The update centers on a cleaner interface and a “progressive disclosure” system that surfaces tools and controls based on each prompt instead of showing all options at once.
Copilot’s upgraded prompt box now supports direct text formatting and expands to fit longer pasted or typed input, while the assistant still works from side panels and in-context chat windows inside documents, cells and slides.
The refresh follows Microsoft’s broader push to make Copilot more integrated across Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and comes a week after Google updated Gemini with similarly structured responses.
