Variety confirmed Tom Hardy was not fired from Paramount+ crime drama “MobLand,” and talks are underway to bring him back for Season 3 after reports last week said he was out.
Season 3 had been due to start production this fall, and Hardy is also believed to be needed for some Season 2 reshoots, giving both sides reason to resolve the dispute.
The clash centers on Hardy’s tardiness and push for script rewrites, while sources also said writer Jez Butterworth delivered scripts late and was often absent from set, leaving issues unresolved.
Guy Ritchie and Paramount+ are said to favor a truce, with Ritchie viewed internally as key because he has a strong working relationship with Hardy and directed episodes across the first two seasons.
Season 1 became one of Paramount+’s most-watched shows in 2025, and sources said losing Hardy could cost viewers even though the series could continue with Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and Paddy Considine.
