Two barns on a property near Tesla and Cross roads were destroyed after the Tesla Fire erupted Wednesday afternoon, sending a fireball and thick black smoke into the air before crews gained control about five hours later.
Propane tanks, vehicles and welding equipment stored inside the structures fueled multiple explosions, while dry grass and life-threatening smoke forced firefighters to attack the blaze from the outside.
No injuries were reported, and firefighters kept the 5.4-acre fire from spreading to nearby homes, though nearby buildings were scorched.
Rose Davis said the barns held 30 years of family collectibles, including Disney items and her wedding dress; the cause remains under investigation.
