Diamant Rouge Entertainment has ordered a TV series on Céline Dion’s childhood in Quebec, with her brother Jacques Dion producing and calling it a faithful portrait of the family’s upbringing.
Zoë Green will serve as showrunner, and the project draws from “Dion, A Family Saga,” a book by Dion’s nephew Jimmy Dion, who is also Jacques Dion’s son.
The series will center on Dion’s early years, her mother Thérèse Dion and the close-knit household of 13 siblings; casting has not yet begun.
The order marks a family-backed screen adaptation of Dion’s early life, extending her story beyond stage portrayals such as the Broadway musical “Titaníque.”
Will the new series reveal how a 14-sibling household forged the resilience behind her recent public health battle?
As her family tells her story, what uncomfortable truths about Céline Dion's rise might be left untold?
Will this family-approved biopic be a raw portrait or a carefully polished official history of the star?
