Fair Lawn bakery Carson’s Cookie Dough hosted Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who toured the shop and met staff to spotlight inclusive employment and small-business support.
The visit focused on the company’s hiring and training model for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism, with employees describing hands-on workforce development.
Carson’s Cookie Dough also donates part of its proceeds to organizations serving the differently-abled community and says it aims to expand those job opportunities.
Gottheimer framed the stop as part of his recurring “Josh on the Job” series across New Jersey’s 5th District, where he visits local businesses to hear from owners, workers and customers.
