T-Mobile told Triad customers Thursday afternoon that the outage had been resolved and service should return within the next 60 minutes.
An email to T-Fiber users said customers still offline should unplug modems and extenders for 5 minutes, then reconnect them.
Thomasville and High Point were among the affected areas, and automated messages from T-Mobile Fiber and Lumos had earlier said engineers were working on the disruption.
The company apologized for the outage and lack of notice, but it still had not identified a cause.
