Tuesday's arrest centers on allegations that Kim Se-ui doctored text messages and fabricated an audio recording with A.I. to spread false claims about actor Kim Soo-hyun.
Those materials had purported to show Kim Soo-hyun dating actress Kim Sae-ron when she was 15 and he was 28, fueling accusations of grooming that he repeatedly denied.
Kim Se-ui, who runs the gossip-heavy Hover Lab channel, denied wrongdoing outside court and said the audio had been authenticated by the National Forensic Service.
Gold Medalist, the actor's agency, said the arrest vindicated him after the scandal derailed his career; he has not appeared in new South Korean shows or modeling work since his March 2025 denial.
