Bamidele Atoyebi said Nigeria’s improved S&P rating and the killing of ISIS commander Abu-Bilal al-Minuki show the country is regaining global standing under President Bola Tinubu.
S&P shifted Nigeria’s outlook from B- to stable B, which Atoyebi said could lift investor confidence, attract capital inflows and strengthen macroeconomic stability after 14 years of weak international perception.
The security gain came through joint Nigerian and U.S. operations, which he described as evidence of a deeper strategic partnership and more effective counterinsurgency cooperation.
Atoyebi tied those developments to Tinubu’s broader agenda, citing $20 billion in foreign investment commitments, tax reforms and projects including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Kano-Kaduna-Ajaokuta Gas Project.
