A Glasgow High Court judge jailed Nicole Blain for life with a minimum term of 19 years after her conviction last month for murdering her 19-day-old daughter, Thea Wilson.
Thea died after suffering injuries consistent with blunt force trauma or being shaken at Blain's Greenock flat on July 14, 2023.
Blain had claimed she found the newborn on the floor and said another child had dropped her, but Lord Scott called that account "patently absurd" and a "feeble attempt to evade responsibility."
Dozens of people packed the court for sentencing, and shouts of "monster" were heard from the public gallery as Blain was led away.
