House Democrats Move to Block Trump's 250-Foot Arlington Arch

Two House Democrats said they will introduce the Arlington National Cemetery Viewshed Protection Act to explicitly bar construction of Trump's proposed 250-foot "triumphal arch" outside the cemetery.
The bill targets a monument Trump has said he can build without congressional approval; renderings show it would block the Lincoln Memorial view from Arlington National Cemetery.
Don Beyer and Dina Titus called the project an unauthorized vanity monument that would waste taxpayer money and could worsen regional air-safety and traffic risks.
The measure is unlikely to become law because Democrats are in the minority and would need two-thirds majorities in both chambers to override a likely Trump veto.
