19-year-old Anthony Lee-Armstrong was charged with two counts of first-degree assault and four armed criminal action counts after a May 17 road-rage shooting in St. Louis that wounded an 11-week-pregnant woman.
Police said the violence began after a near-collision at a QuickTrip parking lot, when the family confronted two sedans and then was chased as the drivers weaved through traffic.
Surveillance video allegedly showed gunfire from the driver’s side of a Volkswagen tied to Lee-Armstrong through a license plate reader; the woman and a witness in the other car identified him as the driver.
The woman was shot in the upper back, the male victim suffered shrapnel wounds, and a young child was inside the family vehicle when it was hit by multiple rounds.
Lee-Armstrong was arrested May 23, is also charged with unlawful use of a weapon and property damage, and is being held without bond.
