  • More than 275 homes and small businesses in Manatee County, Florida, can now buy Spectrum internet, mobile, TV and voice service, extending gigabit-capable access into previously unserved areas.
  • The launch is part of Spectrum’s $7 billion rural construction program, which aims to add more than 100,000 miles of fiber and reach over 1.7 million new locations nationwide.
  • Residential internet starts at 500 Mbps and reaches 1 Gbps, while business plans include 500 Mbps, 750 Mbps and 1 Gbps tiers; the company said its broader network upgrade will bring gigabit upload speeds across 41 states.
  • Spectrum is also bundling mobile and video offerings in the expansion, with unlimited mobile lines starting at $30 a month and TV packages offering more than 270 HD channels plus 85,000 on-demand titles.

With rural America getting gigabit speeds, is this solving the access problem or creating a new affordability crisis post-ACP?
