A Canadian user said a Galaxy S25 FE exploded overnight on a mattress, sending plastic and metal fragments flying, causing a minor neck burn and smoke damage in the room.
The phone was charging with Samsung’s in-box cable and a third-party 20W USB-PD charger inside a thick leather wallet case holding coins, conditions that may have trapped heat.
Samsung support gave the user a ticket number, but the owner said the company had not yet responded further; Android Authority also sought comment.
The claim is the third reported Samsung Galaxy S-series fire incident this year, after earlier user reports involving a Galaxy S25 Plus and a Galaxy S24.
Despite the new report, the outlet said the incidents still appear isolated relative to Galaxy sales in the millions, while warning users to avoid poor-quality chargers and heat-trapping wallet cases.
