  • Halide Mark III is now available as a paid update, adding Photo Lab editing inside the app and a new film-simulation system instead of relying only on capture tools.
  • Five new Looks—Valencia, Rembrandt, Nova, Zephyr and Chroma Noir—add effects such as grain and halation, while HDR support and tweakable controls let users customize or disable processing.
  • The update also redesigns the camera interface, surfacing focus, aspect ratio and lens controls more prominently; Lux says the iPad's two-panel layout is especially suited to editing.
  • Pricing remains $10 monthly, $20 yearly or $60 one-time, while existing subscribers and Halide Mark II buyers get Mark III free.
  • The release is Lux Optics' first major Halide update since co-founder Sebastiaan de With left for Apple in January after a reportedly contentious split.
