$4,500 buys ASUS’ base Zephyrus Duo with a Core Ultra 9 386H, 32GB RAM, 1TB storage and RTX 5070 Ti; the reviewed RTX 5090 version costs $1,000 more.
Two 16-inch 3K OLED panels define the machine: the magnetic keyboard detaches to expose the lower screen, turning the laptop into a stacked dual-display setup for gaming, chat and multitasking.
Performance stayed strong in testing, hitting 75 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p Ultra RT, 124 fps in Control at 1080p Epic, and 95 fps in Control at QHD.
Battery life was better than expected for a dual-screen gaming laptop, lasting 13 hours 10 minutes in PCMark 10 with one screen enabled and more than two hours in untethered gaming.
The review praised the Duo’s power, displays and port selection, but said its 6.2-pound weight, loud fans and ultra-premium price will keep it a niche machine.
