Jamie Kennedy used his podcast to denounce Mark Hamill's AI-generated image showing Donald Trump as dead, calling the post "crazy," "nuts" and "evil" days after an assassination attempt tied to the WHCA Dinner.
Hamill had posted the image on BlueSky with the caption "If Only" and a longer message hoping Trump would live to face impeachment, conviction and humiliation before later deleting it.
His apology said he was wishing Trump "the opposite of dead" and revised the message to say Trump should live long enough to be held accountable, while conceding the image was inappropriate.
The White House's Rapid Response 47 account seized on the episode, calling Hamill "one sick individual" and arguing such rhetoric has helped inspire three assassination attempts in two years.
The clash fits Hamill's long-running opposition to Trump; in a 2025 podcast interview, he said he was ashamed Americans re-elected Trump and felt in the minority.
