Germany’s gas transmission operators said sweeping changes to storage refill incentives are “absolutely essential,” warning the current system is no longer enough to secure winter supply.
Low inventory levels drove the call, with the operators saying the usual model—buying and storing gas in cheaper summer months for winter use—may no longer provide a reliable refill incentive.
