Mamdani told CNN he still has not heard back from Griffin after City Hall reached out to ease tensions sparked by the mayor's viral video outside the Citadel founder's Manhattan home.
That outreach followed Mamdani's Tax Day push for a pied-a-terre tax, which he said could raise at least $500 million and highlighted Griffin's $238 million penthouse as an example.
Griffin had blasted the stunt as "creepy and weird" and warned Mamdani's hostility toward successful investors could push business and a multibillion-dollar project to friendlier cities such as Miami.
Mamdani said he remains willing to meet Griffin and other executives, arguing even six-figure earners in New York face steep costs including roughly $20,000 in childcare for one child.
