Teddy Daniels said he does not want an apology from Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner after Platner declined on video to express regret for a deleted 2019 Reddit post mocking Daniels’ survival under Taliban fire.
The post, made from an account Platner has acknowledged owning, said Daniels “didn’t deserve to live” and blamed Taliban “poor marksmanship” for his survival after he was shot four times in a 2012 clash.
Daniels also rejected Platner’s PTSD explanation, saying his own combat-related PTSD and 20-plus surgeries do not excuse what he called a repeated pattern of conduct and an effort to dodge accountability.
He said any apology should go instead to his children and to the family of Chris Kyle, whom Platner separately criticized in an unearthed interview, while dismissing supporters’ “locker room talk” defense as “vile and disgusting.”
