June 14's planned UFC Freedom 250 card outside the White House is being framed by Dana White as a national celebration, not a political event tied to Donald Trump.
White told TIME he sees the show as marking America's 250th birthday and said he is funding it to celebrate the country rather than back a party or ideology.
That defense comes despite White's decades-long friendship with Trump and his 2024 endorsement, which he said he made out of loyalty after others warned him Trump would lose.
White has said Trump proposed the White House fight in 2025 as part of a broader push to open the grounds to more public events; the date also coincides with Flag Day and Trump's 80th birthday.
