Trump, 79, described Tuesday’s Walter Reed checkup as a “6 month physical,” prompting cardiologist Jonathan Reiner to say the president appears to be shifting from the usual annual exam schedule.
Reiner said that change may reflect Trump’s age and noted many presidential exam results are prepared in advance, meaning a White House medical readout could come quickly.
The White House rejected Reiner’s comments, with spokesperson Davis Ingle calling him a partisan “hack doctor” and insisting Trump remains exceptionally sharp and energetic.
Tuesday’s visit was the fourth known medical checkup of Trump’s second term and comes as questions persist over visible health issues and Reiner’s separate concerns about possible daytime sleepiness.
