Four second-degree murder counts were filed against Michael Rosario-Cruz, 27, after authorities said he drove drunk the wrong way on Interstate 40 in Canadian County and hit another vehicle head-on.
Early Friday's crash killed all four people in the other vehicle, which caught fire: Kiercey Hickson, 20, Quincy Jones, 19, and Haliegh Salazar and Brad Palmer, both 18.
Oklahoma authorities also booked Rosario-Cruz on two DUI causing great bodily injury counts and weapons, open-container and wrong-way driving charges after he was released from a hospital.
An ICE detainer has been lodged against Rosario-Cruz, meaning federal immigration agents asked to be notified when he is released so they can take him into custody and begin deportation proceedings.
El Reno High School held a vigil for the victims, three of whom had recently graduated, underscoring the crash's impact on the local community.
