Mazzulla, 37, became the youngest NBA Coach of the Year winner since Phil Jackson in 1975 after guiding Boston to the East's No. 2 seed.
A 56-26 record underpinned the award, with the Celtics staying near the top of the conference despite long stretches without stars including Jayson Tatum.
Mazzulla had called the honor "stupid" in March, saying it should recognize an entire coaching staff, and repeated Tuesday that video staff and assistants deserved the credit.
Brad Stevens backed that view while praising his fourth-year coach, as J.B. Bickerstaff finished second in voting again and Mitch Johnson placed third.
The award adds to Mazzulla's résumé after Boston's 2024 NBA title, even though the Celtics were eliminated in the first round of this year's playoffs.
