Lloyd Poole, 75, died after spending months in a coma from a December assault in Wixom, Michigan, where police say DoorDash driver Ryan Turner punched him and knocked him to the ground.
Seven brain surgeries followed the attack, according to Poole's family, after he suffered a brain bleed and had part of his skull removed.
Oakland County prosecutors said they are reviewing the case and could amend charges against Turner, 40, based on the evidence after Poole's death.
Investigators say the confrontation began when Poole yelled at Turner for speeding through the neighborhood; court records also show Turner was arrested in a separate alleged road-rage case in 2022.
DoorDash called Poole's death a heartbreaking loss and said it is cooperating with law enforcement as the family pushes for upgraded charges.
