KPMG Embeds Claude for 276,000 Staff in 138 Countries, Deepening Big Four AI Push

KPMG will roll out Anthropic’s Claude across its Digital Gateway platform to all 276,000 employees, making the model part of day-to-day tax, deal and advisory work rather than a side chatbot.
The firm said the alliance is meant to close a weak adoption gap: joint research found only 5% of AI interactions produced meaningful outcomes, pushing KPMG to pair the rollout with its “Think, Prompt, Check” training framework.
Anthropic also named KPMG its preferred consulting partner for private equity, where KPMG plans to use Claude Code in portfolio companies through its Blaze offering to modernize IT systems and workflows.
KPMG said client data will stay in its secure proprietary environment and will not train Claude, addressing fears that AI labs could use consulting firms’ data while building competing services.
The deal highlights a broader industry tension: KPMG argues domain expertise and human judgment will remain central, even as critics warn AI providers could eventually bypass consultants they currently need as partners.
