CN¥1,799 XBX A01 marks XREAL’s cheapest AR glasses yet and debuts its new XBX sub-brand in China.
The 62g tethered glasses target casual media use rather than full AR, offering a 50° field of view, HDR10, SDR-to-HDR conversion and up to 1,600 nits from Sony micro-OLED displays.
Cost cuts include no cameras, no electrochromic dimming and no Bose-branded audio, positioning the device below XREAL’s regular lineup.
XBX’s name could complicate any overseas rollout because of possible confusion with Microsoft’s Xbox, a sensitivity heightened after XREAL rebranded from Nreal in 2023 following an Epic Games trademark dispute.
The launch shows XREAL pressing harder into lower-priced XR just as it prepares Project Aura—its Google-backed Android XR flagship—outside China later this year.
