GoPro Mission 1 Pro Delivers 8K 60fps Video, but Costs $699

$699 buys GoPro’s new Mission 1 Pro, which the review says sets a new action-camera benchmark with a 1-inch 50MP sensor and 8K 60fps recording.
That larger sensor drives sharper video, stronger dynamic range and better dusk performance than rivals, while 8K open-gate capture gives creators more room to crop for 4K or vertical output.
Battery life also improved markedly: the camera ran over three hours at 4K 30fps and more than an hour at 8K 60fps, with overheating mainly limited to the highest settings without airflow.
Tradeoffs remain clear — the Mission 1 Pro is thicker and heavier than the Hero 13, lacks internal storage and costs $270 more than key rivals such as DJI’s Osmo Action 6.
GoPro unveiled the Mission 1 line on May 24 ahead of May 28 retail sales, positioning it as a higher-end hybrid camera for creators willing to pay for top video quality.
