Armando Iannucci and Simon Blackwell have been hired to write "Paddington 4," with StudioCanal turning to the "Veep" team as the sequel moves through development.
The move follows 2024's "Paddington in Peru," which changed directors and writers from the first two films and was seen as a step down from the 2014 and 2017 entries.
Dougal Wilson, who directed the third film, is still in talks to return for the fourth despite the writing overhaul.
The franchise has grossed more than $800 million worldwide, and the new hire signals an effort to restore the tone and emotional strengths that defined the first two "Paddington" movies.
