Oppo Launches $73 Bubble Selfie Screen With 33-Foot Wireless Range

Oppo priced the Bubble at 499 yuan, or about $73, in China, pitching it as a thin rear-mounted screen that lets users frame selfies with higher-quality rear cameras.
The accessory adds live preview, remote camera controls and a shutter button, while a 550mAh battery powers its 7mm-thick round AMOLED display.
Its main drawback is compatibility: Oppo says the Bubble works only with a limited set of its own phones, including Reno 14-16 and Find X8, X9, X9 Pro and X9 Ultra, via a companion app.
Attachment also remains awkward—users need a magnetic case for Oppo phones because the company has not built magnetic rings into its devices, and Oppo has not announced support for other brands or a global release.
Is OPPO's Bubble a glimpse into a modular future or just another clever but fleeting smartphone gimmick?
As accessories get smarter, will we soon upgrade our phones piece by piece instead of buying new ones?
