Cargo Terminal 2 at Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has opened with 16,850 m² of space and annual handling capacity of about 50,000 metric tons.
The facility was built to absorb rising domestic and international cargo volumes, with room to expand capacity to 100,000 metric tons a year.
A fully temperature-controlled pharma zone anchors the terminal, using continuous monitoring and temperature cut-off systems to support pharmaceutical and perishable shipments.
Hyderabad said the new terminal should speed processing, shorten regulatory clearances and reduce cargo dwell times through better airside-to-landside connectivity.
The project strengthens Hyderabad's push to deepen its role as a global pharmaceutical cargo hub as airports worldwide expand infrastructure to meet growing demand.
