One skydiver died and another was taken to a hospital after a mid-air collision during a jump near E. Schoessler Road in Ritzville on Sunday evening.
Adams County Sheriff's Office deputies responded after 5:30 p.m. to reports of two skydivers needing medical attention and found the crash had occurred in the air.
The sheriff's office investigated the incident, and the dead skydiver's body was released to the Adams County Coroner's Office.
Authorities are withholding both identities until next-of-kin notifications are completed.
