Square Enix Sets 10-Minute Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary Broadcast for May 27

Square Enix said its “Update from the Dragon Quest Team” will stream on YouTube on May 27 at 6:00 a.m. PT, running for 10 minutes as part of the series’ 40th anniversary.
Yuji Horii had already teased the May 27 livestream would announce “the next game” along with other franchise updates, though Square Enix did not detail the program’s contents.
May 27 also brings a Dragon Quest 40th anniversary special page and a separate celebration livestream featuring Eiko Kano’s Critikano Hit later that day.
The event sharpens focus on the franchise’s next main reveal, with Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate still awaiting substantial news since its 2021 announcement.
