Xi, Vucic Sign 20-Plus Deals, Deepen China-Serbia Ties in Beijing

More than 20 cooperation documents were signed in Beijing after Xi Jinping and Aleksandar Vucic held talks, covering politics, trade, science, education, legal affairs and culture.
Xi used the meeting to press broader alignment under China’s 2026-2030 five-year plan, calling for more work on transport and energy infrastructure as well as AI, the digital economy, green energy and advanced manufacturing.
Vucic, on a May 24-28 state visit, also received China’s Friendship Medal, with Xi citing Serbia’s support on China’s core interests and Vucic calling it one of the most important moments of his life.
The two sides issued joint statements on advancing a China-Serbia community with a shared future and on implementing China’s global development, security, civilization and governance initiatives.
The visit extends momentum from Xi’s 2024 Serbia trip, with both leaders portraying visa-free travel, a free trade pact and direct flights as tools to turn their “ironclad friendship” into wider economic and people-to-people ties.
