UPatch continuously imaged fetuses for hours and tracked heart rate and blood flow in real time, offering a wearable alternative to intermittent hospital-based scans.
Researchers built the proof-of-concept device to address false alarms from current monitoring and data gaps between visits, using electronics and algorithms to maintain signals as fetuses move and vessels sit deep in the womb.
