Japan Sends 2 Senior Officials to Russia to Protect Company Assets

Masayoshi Arai and Masaki Ishikawa are in Russia and are scheduled to meet Russian government officials and other relevant parties, Trade Minister Ryosei Akazawa said Tuesday.
Tokyo said the trip is meant to keep communication channels open and safeguard the assets of Japanese companies still operating in Russia.
The visit is the latest in a series of Japanese official trips to Russia since the war in Ukraine began, showing Japan is preserving limited working-level contact despite the conflict.
