A new tip from Schrödinger says Apple could bring Samsung’s Privacy Display to M6 Pro and M6 Max MacBook Pro models within months, far earlier than earlier expectations.
Omdia had said in February 2026 that Apple might not adopt the screen-privacy technology in MacBook Pro until 2029, making the new timeline a sharp acceleration.
The feature, used in Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra, can obscure side-angle viewing across the whole screen or a selected area by changing the display layer’s optical state.
Only the higher-end M6 Pro and M6 Max models are expected to get OLED panels, while the base M6 is still tipped to keep mini-LED, likely limiting the privacy upgrade to the premium variants.
The same M6 Pro and Max refresh is also rumored to bring thermal and design changes, including a vapor chamber and revised cooling hardware, underscoring a broader overhaul of Apple’s top MacBook Pro line.
