  • German Corona, 46, was attacked around 10:30 p.m. Friday near South 10th Street after finishing a 13-hour day working two jobs and heading home.
  • Ring camera footage showed a group of three men following him, then rushing him after he crossed the street to avoid them.
  • Corona said he was struck in the back of the head, blacked out for about 1 minute, then was beaten on the ground until he handed over his wallet and $200.
  • He suffered a broken nose and needed 3 staples to his head; neighbors who heard him yelling for help came outside and stayed with him until medics arrived.
  • Corona said the attackers appeared to be teenagers or young adults, most wearing masks, and the assault has left both him and nearby residents shaken about walking the neighborhood at night.
