Peter Fury said he confronted referee Mark Lyson on a flight back to England, then accepted the 11th-round stoppage as a genuine mistake after Lyson said he did not hear the bell.
Saturday's fight in Egypt turned contentious when Usyk dropped Rico Verhoeven with an uppercut late in the 11th and Lyson halted the bout during the follow-up as the round was ending.
Verhoeven, just 1-1 entering the fight, had been given little chance against the 25-0 Usyk but was viewed by many observers as close to winning after 10 rounds.
Fury said neither he nor Lyson heard the bell in the moment, adding that referees are routinely criticized for stopping fights either too early or too late.
