NetEase said it permanently banned 488 Marvel Rivals accounts after a post-update investigation found players using or distributing cheats and other client tampering tools.
The studio said any verified use of cheats, illicit assist programs or modified clients will now trigger a permanent ban, with repeat offenders also facing IP and hardware bans.
NetEase also rejected claims that launch parameters can disable Marvel Rivals' anti-cheat, saying the setting only hides a pop-up while the protection starts with the game client.
184 of the banned accounts were Bronze rank, while only three had reached the top One Above All tier, underscoring the broad sweep across the game's ladder.
