Sept. 30, 2026 is now the confirmed cutoff date for Samsung Gallery syncing photos and videos directly to OneDrive, according to updated support pages from both companies.
After that date, new Gallery content will no longer back up automatically to OneDrive as Samsung moves away from the integration toward its own cloud approach.
Existing photos and videos already stored in OneDrive will remain in users' accounts and stay accessible through the OneDrive app rather than being deleted.
Samsung is urging users who still rely on the feature to save files before the shutdown, either with Gallery's Download originals option or through the OneDrive app.
The confirmation settles months of shifting expectations after teardown clues in 2025 and reports that had pointed first to April 2026, then to September 2026.
