BTS Return to AMAs After 4 Years, Win 1 Award and Perform 'Hooligan'

BTS capped their first awards-show appearance in four years by winning song of the summer for “Swim” at the 2026 American Music Awards in Las Vegas.
The seven-member group also opened the show with a pre-taped “Hooligan” performance from their May 24 Allegiant Stadium concert, then later appeared live to present best female R&B artist to SZA.
Their AMA return came during a sold-out four-night Las Vegas run on the Arirang World Tour, with shows already played on May 23 and 24 and two more set for May 27 and 28.
Las Vegas leaned into the visit over Memorial Day weekend, turning Strip marquees red, staging fireworks at MGM Grand and displaying “Arirang” on the Sphere.
BTS’s comeback year continues beyond the tour: the group is also set to join Madonna and Shakira for the first FIFA World Cup final halftime show on July 19.
