$599 buys the Ecovacs X8 Pro Omni during Memorial Day sales, a $67 discount from its usual price in a Walmart flash deal.
ZDNET said the model delivered the best sand pickup in lab tests of 10 robot vacuums, averaging 60.28% across hardwood, low-pile carpet and mid-pile carpet.
The X8 Pro Omni also vacuums and mops at the same time, using a self-cleaning mop roller plus onboard clean- and dirty-water tanks.
Obstacle avoidance was another selling point in testing, with the robot steering around a sock, a cat toy and a lamp cord.
ZDNET rated the offer 3 out of 5 rather than 2 out of 5 because the vacuum is a lab award winner that rarely goes on sale.
