One UI 8.5 has stripped video filters from Samsung’s stock Camera app while recording 1080p video at 30fps and 60fps, a change confirmed on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Z Fold 6 and Z Fold 7.
Samsung has not explained the removal, and the feature is still absent in the One UI 9.0 beta, suggesting the change was intentional rather than a temporary bug.
13 built-in filters remain available only after recording through Samsung Studio, with eight more downloadable from the Galaxy Store, but applying them appears to recompress files.
One test cut a 4K HDR 60fps clip to 334MB from 467MB after a built-in filter was applied, raising a trade-off between customization and output quality.
