Tiger Woods posted his first public message in nearly two months on Monday, using Memorial Day to honor fallen service members and his father Earl Woods, a Special Forces veteran with two Vietnam tours.
March 31 was his last public statement, when the 50-year-old said he would step away to seek treatment after a March 27 Florida car crash and DUI arrest.
Florida authorities later charged Woods with two misdemeanors—DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test—even though breathalyzer samples showed 0.00 and the refusal charge stemmed from declining a urine test.
Woods was cleared on April 1 to travel abroad for inpatient treatment, returned briefly to Florida on May 13, and his private plane reportedly flew back to Switzerland on Sunday, suggesting rehabilitation is still ongoing.
His reappearance came as girlfriend Vanessa Trump posted a photo with Woods and recently said he had been her "strength" after disclosing a breast cancer diagnosis.
