Uganda Revenue Authority named Robert Lumanyika Wamala and Moses Adola as the two staff members killed when their vehicle hit a crossing elephant in Nwoya District.
8 p.m. Sunday, the team was returning to Kampala from official duty in Arua along the Kampala–West Nile highway when the crash occurred, URA said.
Four other URA staff were injured and remain hospitalized under medical care and close monitoring, according to the agency.
The deaths follow an earlier report that said three URA officials were killed in the elephant collision near Murchison Falls National Park, underscoring continuing uncertainty over the toll.
