BMW Ends G80 M3 Production in February 2027 as Successors Shift to Hybrid and EV Power

February 2027 is the reported end of G80 BMW M3 production, making the North America-only M3 CS Handschalter a final sendoff for the current generation.
Scott Stirling, BMW M North America product manager, said the manual CS existed because 2027 is the G80's last model year, and the M3—not the M4—was his only chance.
The shutdown is expected to cover the G81 M3 Touring as well, while the G82/G83 M4 is slated to continue until June 2029, according to insider production data BMW has not officially confirmed.
Two successors are planned: an electric Neue Klasse M3 with up to 1,300 horsepower and a combustion G84 due from July 2028 that is expected to adopt plug-in hybrid assistance.
That leaves the 2027 M3 CS as likely the last manual M3 and potentially the last non-hybrid combustion M3 before the nameplate turns fully electrified in some form.
